Santa and Jesus
The image of Santa Claus kneeling before the baby Jesus, or the similar window sticker often seen on vehicles depicting Santa kneeling before a crucified Jesus, or an empty cross are possibly the perfect example of religion in American culture. Why Jesus is so real that even Santa acknowledges him! And that is how you end up with a very popular image using an acknowledged mythical character to bolster one’s belief in yet another mythical character. While we are at it, why don’t we have pictures of the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy worshipping Jesus too? It would be just about as logical.
I found this picture on some Catholic supply web site. Does anyone else think Santa is just a bit too close to the little baby?
